The room was tastefully decorated and had a pristine en-suite bathroom, which is impressive for what seems like a recent conversion. The location is prime, being close to the main attractions like the Irish National Stud and Kildare Village, allowing easy access to shopping and local sites.
Unfortunately, the floorboards from the room above creaked with every movement, making it hard to ignore noise disturbances. The room itself was quite hot, lacking any temperature control, which led to an uncomfortable night's sleep, especially with the early morning traffic noise from the street outside. the check-in process was confusing as it required a cash deposit and a lengthy wait for a reception staff member during early hours, which isn't ideal for those needing to leave promptly.

Dinner in the library was a highlight, featuring a fantastic menu that made it hard to choose just one dish. The dining experience at the Silken was top-notch! We had dinner there several times, and the food was delicious, complemented by a delightful atmosphere. The standout was the gorgeous room we stayed in – 'The Kate Room' was impeccably clean and felt just like home after a long day of exploring. Plus, the hospitality was as warm as a freshly baked soda bread!
I was surprised that neither BBC One nor BBC Two were available on the television, which wasn't a big deal since I only wanted it for a bit. Kildare's roads were a bit busy, and the train service could definitely be more frequent – it’s a shame I was the only fella arriving by train!

Exceptional dining and cozy accommodations
Our night here was nothing short of delightful! The room was incredibly spacious and boasted an impressively large bathroom, even featuring a walk-in shower that I absolutely loved. Dinner in the restaurant was a highlight, where the quality of food surpassed my expectations, and the staff were genuinely attentive and eager to assist, making us feel pampered. The ambiance inside was warm and inviting, adding to the overall experience. I did notice some noise from the front door that could tarnish the otherwise peaceful stay.
